Back to 2005 Northeast Highpoint Expedition
In the evening of 5 June, I drove though Bellafontaine, OH, towards the Hi-Point Career Center. This gated compound is normally closed on Sunday (although it is supposedly now open on Saturday), but I had made arrangements to have the pedestrian gate left open. I parked just outside the gate, and walked through the school roads to the highpoint, which was decorated with a flag and some granite markers. The place was deserted except for a cat who didn't want to have anything to do with me. A nasty looking storm was approaching, so I didn't stay long. I did sign the register before I left.
