2005 Chicago Trip

19 Oct 2005 - Eric Stager and I fly to Chicago, with some cheap nonstop tickets, and make our way to the Hotel Indigo, which is well located, near the John Hancock building.  We take the very fast elevator to the top, and enjoy the fantastic view looking down on the city and Lake Michigan, as late afternoon changes into evening.  Over the next few days, we check out several museums, of which the Shedd Aquarium was the star.  We also get to hear the magnificent Neko Case and the New Pornographers at a club in Wrigleyville.  On the way there, we walked right by Wrigley Field, the day after the Astros clinched a World Series berth, which has eluded the Cubs for so long.  The Houston opponent was the other Chicago team, the White Sox, who had a curse of their own.  After all this, Eric flew home while I made a short side trip to the highpoint of Wisconsin.
