2006 Recruiting Class
UT has now released a roster for 2006, which includes these six new players:
Avery is a goalkeeper from Mississippi. She has played with the Region 3 ODP team, made the high school All-Conference team, and her club team (Mississippi United) won the state championship.
Emily is a forward, from Westlake HS in Austin.
Greta is transferring from SMU, where she played defender. She is originally from Arlington, TX, and played with the Dallas Texans club team. Greta has played in Mike Meyers stadium at least twice: In 2004, SMU played in the first round of the NCAA tournament against West Virginia, and last year SMU opened the regular season against Texas in Austin. That game may have convinced Greta that she didn't want to play on the other side of Kelsey Carpenter anymore, after a collision between the two left Greta pretty banged up.
Yobel played forward for the UT Women's Club Team, and tried out for the NCAA team as a walk-on. Her accomplishments with the club team in 2005 include making the all-tournament team in the club national championship tournament, as well as a hat trick against Texas A&M.
Casey, a defender/midfielder, is from Dallas, TX, went to high school at Lake Highlands, and played for the Dallas Texans (88 Girls Red West) club team. She was awarded co-defensive MVP on the all-district 10-5A soccer team. She seems to like the jersey #13, which she wore both on her high-school and club teams. That number has an illustrious history at Texas.
Christina hails from New Hope, Pennsylvania, went to high school at Central Bucks East, and played with YMS Spirit club team. She was a three-year Varsity starter for Central Bucks East and was selected All-Conference last season
